Why won’t Chrome load some websites when they load just fine in other browsers?

1 – Load Chrome, then click theMenu icon in the upper right-handcorner of the screen (it looks like3 dots stacked vertically).2 – ClickSettings.3 – Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Advanced link.4 – Scroll down to theSystem section and clickOpen proxy settings.5 – After the Internet Properties window pops up, click theLAN settingsbutton.6 – Make sure the box besideUsea proxy server for your LANis unchecked, then clickOk. Now, clickOkagain.If that box was previously checked, try visiting a website thatyou couldn’t reach before and see if it will load now.Important:The box mentioned above isn’t checked by default. The fact that it was checked could mean you have malware on your system. If so, this postwill explain how to get rid of it.If the proxy server setting wasn’t the culprit, try clearing the cookies that Chrome has stored on your hard drive. Here’s how:1 – Click theMenu icon (the 3 vertical dots) in the upper right-hand corner of the screen again.2 – ClickSettings.3 – Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Advanced link.4 – In thePrivacysection, clickClear browsing data.5 – In the drop down box besideClear the following items from, selectthe beginning of time.6 – Check the boxes besidethe top 4 entries, then clickClear browsing data.You should now be able to access the websites that you couldn’t get to before. If not, let me know and we’ll go from there.Update from Kenneth:Rick, it was thecookies. After I cleared them out everything started working just fine.
